About Sandro ...

Sandro is a native-born Italian with over twenty years corporate IT experience at the duPont Company and duPont Pharmaceuticals. His specialties are based on Apple technology and digital imaging. He is a highly sought-after lecturer, author and consultant.

As a Mac Consultant …

Sandro has vast experience in Macintosh consulting and support. His first Mac was the original Mac 128K, introduced in 1984. In 1985,  Sandro took his beloved Mac into his workplace at the duPont Experimental Station in Wilmington, Delaware. There, he demonstrated to scientists how they could easily generate chemical formulas and organic chemical structures on the Mac's novel graphical user interface, and how these could be copied and pasted into word processing documents. That's when Company scientists and other personnel realized what a productivity boon the Mac would be in the research environment. The flood gates opened and Macs and LaserWriters were ordered by the palettes-full!

During these early years, outside of the workplace, Sandro co-founded the Macintosh Users of Delaware (MUD), still in existence since 1985. (www.mudel.org)

Professionally, Sandro moved on to support the research community, and continued to show how to get the most out of Macintosh computing. He worked with Apple to do demonstrations and design and run training classes at duPont. He later developed training for tech support personnel, and led efforts in the area of personal computer data security in the corporate user community. He also administered several AppleTalk networks and Apple file servers. Finally, in the 90s, Sandro moved into Internet support services for duPont Pharmaceuticals, where he performed Webmaster duties for several company websites, such as www.duPontPharma.com, www.Coumadin.com, www.Sustiva.com, and others.

After 21 years service to duPont, Sandro retired and formed his own consulting firm, MyMacMedic.com. This consisted of Mac consulting, training, and support services, as well as commercial photography (PhotoImage Systems).

In 2011, Sandro worked part-time as a Lead Product Specialist at the Apple Authorized Campus Store at the University of Delaware. This position gave Sandro a valuable opportunity to guide University students, faculty and staff towards the benefits of the Apple computing experience.

Sandro holds technical certifications from Apple for Macintosh and OS X training and support as well as for Aperture training. For over ten years he has been certified by Apple as a member of the Apple Consultants Network and has also achieved Apple Sales Professional Recognition. Sandro is also certified by Apple as a Certified Support Professional.

Sandro also freelances as a technical writer for The Mac Observer, a web-based portal for all things Mac, Apple and iOS devices. In 2012, The Mac Observer entered its sixteenth year of service to the Apple community. Visit www.MacObserver.com

As a Photographer …

With 30+ years experience in award-winning photography, Sandro now owns his own commercial digital photography studio (PhotoImage Systems), and provides training and consulting to amateur and professional photographers in the areas of traditional and digital photography, Adobe Photoshop, and using Macintosh for digital image processing.

Sandro has led lectures and workshops for the Delaware Photographic Society, Chester County Camera Club, and The Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. He has designed numerous lectures and courses on photography subjects as well as mobile photography (iPhoneography).

As an Instructor …

For over five years, Sandro has been a volunteer instructor at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Delaware in Wilmington (formerly Academy of Lifelong Learning), where he teaches courses and workshops on Macintosh and iDevice computing, Traditional and Digital Photography, and Adobe Photoshop

Sandro also teaches at the Continuing Education Division of the Delaware College of Art and Design (DCAD) in Wilmington, where he has developed an exciting new course on iPhoneography. Starting in the Fall of 2012, Sandro teaches photography at the Delaware Technical Community College in Stanton, Delaware.

Sandro, his wife, Assunta, and their two goldfish (Orangina and Limoncello) live in Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania.
